Prior Labs, a German start-up building a state-of-the-art AI model for tabular data, has raised €9 million in an equity financing round. The round was led by Balderton Capital, with participation from XTX Ventures, the Hector Foundation, Atlantic Labs and Galion.exe, as well as other notable AI investors. Taylor Wessing advised Balderton Capital on all legal aspects of the transaction with an interdisciplinary team led by Berlin-based corporate technology partner and VC expert Dr Norman Röchert.
Prior Labs has developed TabPFN, a unique model for analysing tabular data (structured data in tables, spreadsheets and databases). TabPFN requires only half the data for pattern recognition and still achieves a level of accuracy that significantly exceeds that of the best analysis tools currently available. But it is not only in this discipline that Prior Labs' model sets a new standard; it also does so in terms of speed: after just a few seconds, TabPFN delivers results of a quality that previously took several hours. Companies can seamlessly integrate the analysis tool's functions into their processes via an interface.
Prior Labs plans to use the funds raised to drive product development, expand the team and establish the transformative potential of the technology more broadly in the market.
Prior Labs was founded in late 2024 by Frank Hutter, Noah Hollmann and Sauraj Gambhir. The team has over 20 years of experience in machine learning and sees great potential in transforming data analysis by developing innovative AI solutions.
