Financial services regulatory expert Charlotte Witherington joins Taylor Wessing in London

New partner boosts firm's ability to provide expert and solutions-focused advice on all aspects of UK and EU financial services law and regulation to UK and international clients.

Taylor Wessing announces today the hire of Charlotte Witherington, formerly at Freshfields, as a partner based in London.

The hire responds to growing client demand and will enhance the firm's strong market reputation for advising on FinTech regulatory matters across the spectrum of financial services. Taylor Wessing's team is particularly skilled at advising on the implementation of regulatory change and disruptive projects driven by technology and works for many of the leading brands and disruptors in this space.

Head of Taylor Wessing's Financial Services Regulatory team Charlotte Hill said: "Charlotte's expertise and track record in gaining clients' confidence at the intersection of technology and traditional financial services regulatory law will enhance the breadth and depth of our service offering and accelerate our efforts to expand our market-leading FinTech practice in the City and internationally. "

Charlotte Witherington said: "I am thrilled to join Taylor Wessing and look forward to getting started. The firm's focus on the technology sector, culture of innovation, impressive client base and global platform provide huge potential to further develop this cutting-edge practice."

Charlotte is tri-lingual, speaking English, German and Mandarin.

This is Taylor Wessing's third lateral partner hire in 2024, following the announcements last month of Ryan Ferry joining the firm to establish a Disputes practice in Dublin, and highly experienced ex-Lewis Silkin co-managing partner Giles Crown joining the firm's IP practice in London.
