Carmen Redmann-Wippel, a 32-year-old dual-qualified lawyer (Attorney at Law in Austria, Solicitor of England and Wales), joined Taylor Wessing's Banking & finance team in Vienna at the beginning of September.
The new Counsel brings with her a wealth of experience across the diverse landscape of banking and finance law. Her practice encompasses advising financial institutions and corporate clients, with a specialization in financing transactions and regulatory advice, including representation of banks vis-à-vis authorities. Furthermore, Redmann-Wippel has profound know-how in the field of "sustainable finance" with a focus on "green- and sustainability-linked loans".
Carmen about her new role: "At Taylor Wessing, I anticipate not only a diverse and international workplace but also the opportunity to leverage my past experiences in the best interests of my clients." After having worked in the "Global Transactions" team of an international law firm for many years, a tenure that featured a secondment at one of the largest Austrian banks, Carmen assumed responsibility for advising on sustainable (project) financings and investments in developing countries from the perspective of Austrian and English law at the Development Bank of Austria.
Claudia Steegmüller, CEE Head of Banking & finance at Taylor Wessing, shares her optimism about Carmen's contributions to the team: "With Carmen onboard, we anticipate a significant enrichment of our practice group, complemented by her diverse experience. Moreover, she will play a pivotal role in the expansion of our advisory services in the field of 'sustainable finance'. We have observed a substantial uptick in demand for sustainable financing advice, both from borrowers and investors alike. Carmen's arrival positions us to meet this demand expertly."
In addition to her profound expertise in banking and finance law, Carmen Redmann-Wippel brings comprehensive knowledge in capital markets law, insolvency law and restructuring, real estate law, and general corporate law.
