Taylor Wessing and H.M. Chan & Co unite in Hong Kong

Having completed the Law Society’s association requirement, Hong Kong law firm H.M. Chan & Co will now officially operate as Taylor Wessing. The change takes place from 13 September 2021. 

Since launching the association in 2016, the team of lawyers headed by Managing Partner Mark Chan and resident German Partner Jakob Riemenschneider has established an award-winning and profitable practice in Hong Kong, successfully advising local and international clients on Hong Kong law and on cross-border investments across Asia and in Europe. The Hong Kong office also functions as an Asia Desk providing corporate and commercial law services to international clients of the firm.

The firm is recognised for its strength in corporate and corporate finance matters, having advised clients on venture capital and private equity, IPOs and secondary listings, public takeovers, cross-border M&A, joint ventures, as well as regulatory and compliance. 

Despite its short history in Hong Kong, the firm has also won numerous awards and accolades, including being listed as one of the “Firms To Watch 2017” by Asian Legal Business (ALB), announced as the “Transactional Boutique Law Firm of the Year” at the Macallan ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2018, and named as an “Employer of Choice 2020” in Hong Kong by Asian Legal Business (ALB).
