Our Private Wealth team has been named as a Tier One firm in the 2020 eprivateclient Top Law Firms in the UK - a detailed ranking of the best private client legal teams working in the UK.
The eprivateclient Top Law Firms list recognises the firms that provide the highest quality professional advice and support to clients in the UK and internationally.
Ranked on indices including the number of private client partners and fee earners, as well as private client revenue and this revenue as a percentage of total firm income, the 2020 rankings feature 48 law firms divided across three tiers.
The team has received numerous accolades for its work in the private wealth space over the past year. Most recently, this has included partner and Head of the International Private Wealth group Nick Warr being named as a top tax and trust lawyer in Spear's index and senior associate Rob Gibson being recognised in eprivateclient’s annual 'Top 35 Under 35' ranking.
Four of our Private Wealth lawyers were also listed in the annual Spear’s 500 index. This included Nick Warr and consultant Mark Buzzoni both being recognised as top Tax & Trusts Advisers, partner and head of the Residential Property group Elaine Dobson, feted as a top property adviser and partner Niri Shan who was named as a top reputation management lawyer.
Emma Jordan, partner and our Head of Contentious Trusts, was also included in eprivateclient’s ’50 Most Influential’ ranking in 2019.
We also worked on the precedent setting Z Trust litigation. The case provided clarity on the entitlement of a former trustee to the assets of an insolvent trust. It has consequences for the industry across all trust jurisdictions, giving former trustees reassurance that indemnity provides security when handing over trust assets.
