As part of Neurodiversity Week, we're proud to share how the firm embraces and supports neurodivergent individuals throughout their journey with us-from recruitment to their ongoing development as valued members of our firm.
Our recruitment process is tailored to recognise the unique strengths that neurodivergent candidates bring. We have implemented an Inclusive Recruitment Charter alongside an internal policy that ensures each stage of recruitment is inclusive and provides for reasonable adjustments where needed. We take pride in providing personalised support and ensuring everyone's needs are met on a case-by-case basis. With a dedicated Early Talent representative, we liaise with candidates at each stage of the process to discuss their adjustments from assessment centre to the vacation scheme. This ensures candidates do not need to repeat their diagnosis unnecessarily and the correct adjustments are put in place. In further efforts to support neurodiverse candidates, we have integrated the TopScore platform into our assessment centres. TopScore's accessibility toolbar is a game-changer, allowing users to personalise their experience with features such as text-to-speech for hearing highlighted text aloud, screen colour adjustments for visual comfort, and an on-screen ruler to help keep track of reading. Ultimately, this allows individuals to succeed without barriers. Our investment in these technologies is part of our unwavering commitment to supporting neurodiversity and fostering talent from all backgrounds.
As a firm, we continue to educate ourselves through disability insights, in particular through our partnership with MyPlusConsulting. This allows us to consider points such as how we best support neurodiverse employees in the workplace, or ask more specific recruitment adjustment questions through the Q&A drop in.
Once with the firm, we work diligently in partnership with the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) to ensure that diagnoses and support assessments are readily available within the workplace. This is just one example of a collaboration which has been instrumental in creating an environment where our employees feel understood and supported.
As a member of the Wellbeing Committee, my focus on neurodiversity is unwavering. We strive to ensure there is no stigma attached; instead, we highlight the diverse perspectives and problem-solving skills that neurodiverse individuals contribute. It's crucial for us all to recognise the inherent strengths that come from being neurodiverse-creativity, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and many others.
Neurodiversity enriches our firm, driving innovation and enhancing our collective ability to serve clients with fresh insights and approaches. So, during this Neurodiversity Week-and beyond-we celebrate the limitless potential of all our current and future people at Taylor Wessing.
