Taylor Wessing launches CEE Property Passport

Taylor Wessing’s Real Estate Group is delighted to announce the launch of our new guide, the ‘Property Passport CEE’.

A sister guide to the passports of UK and Germany, our new guide is for overseas investors looking to invest in the Central and Eastern European property markets. It covers:

  • Why the CEE countries Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine are attractive places for investment;
  • Key legal issues to be aware of when investing into property in these countries from selecting the right asset, through to managing the asset, financing the asset and refurbishing the asset together with tax treatment for structuring the acquisition.

Strategically positioned in the heart of Europe, the CEE countries are setting year-on-year records in their commercial real estate investment volumes. A growing number of institutional property investors see CEE as an attractive and safe region – particularly those prepared to increase their risk levels for higher yields. Core Western European markets have a limited stock of trophy assets, so investors are increasingly tempted by CEE products, which offer excellent yields and long-term profits.

Whether you have already invested in CEE real estate or are considering the opportunities, we hope that you will find our guide a useful reference tool.
