Criminal Finances Act assessment tool

You may have heard that the UK introduced new corporate criminal offences last year in the fight against tax evasion, under the Criminal Finances Act 2017.

The offences in question are committed by a company or partnership (a 'Relevant Body') where it can be shown that someone associated with the Relevant Body criminally facilitated the commission of tax evasion. The legislation has extra-territorial effect, and could affect any Relevant Body which carries on business or part of its business in the UK, as well as any Relevant Body whose business activities generate a potential liability to pay UK tax.

We have created the tool to help businesses identify whether they are affected by the new legislation, if so identify what their overall level of risk might be, and suggest next steps depending on the outcome. It involves between 5 to 10 questions and takes no longer than 5 minutes to complete.
