Europe's security and defense industry is undergoing a transformation. Driven by the geopolitical situation and new security requirements, the sector is rapidly gaining in importance—with a corresponding surge in investment and innovation at virtually every layer.
A particularly dynamic example of this is Unmanned Systems (UxS). Whether in the air, on land, on or under water — unmanned systems are among the fastest-growing segments of the European security and defense industry. Key drivers include NATO projects such as “Drone Wall” and the expansion of integrated air and missile defense systems.
As a result, unmanned systems, as well as counter-UxS and anti-drone technologies, are becoming a key component of modern defense strategies and a key area for industry cooperation and technological innovation in Europe.
These developments are the focus of the Munich Defense Summit. Together with leading representatives from industry, the military, and consulting sectors, we will discuss current trends, opportunities, and challenges facing the European security and defense industry.
We are pleased to welcome Lieutenant General (Ret.) Andreas Hoppe, former Deputy Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, as our keynote speaker.
Following his keynote address, experts will engage in a panel discussion addressing key issues surrounding technological developments, industrial cooperation, and security policy perspectives. We would then like to conclude the evening with you through an open exchange and networking session.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Munich Defence Summit.
