Yannis is a Partner in the (Re)Insurance & Industrial Risks department at Taylor Wessing.
Yannis assists clients on domestic and cross-border corporate transactions, in particular mergers, acquisitions and insurance / reinsurance portfolio transfers. Yannis also advises clients on French domestic and European regulatory matters such as the cross-border provision of insurance and reinsurance services, branch business across the EU, compliance with French law provisions for European or non-European insurers and reinsurers.
Prior to joining Taylor Wessing, Yannis was a partner in major US and UK law firms. He previously worked at the Economics & Finance Committee of the European insurance and reinsurance federation (Insurance Europe) in Brussels, as well as for Skandia Life in the UK. He holds a Masters degree from Warwick Business School and a law degree from Lille University in France. He teaches insurance law at the Insurance Institute of Paris at Paris Dauphine University.
Yannis is a member of the legal commission and of the run-off working group of the Association of French Reinsurance Professionals (APREF) and participated in the work of the legal working group set-up by the French Treasury on the transposition of Solvency II. Yannis has also been appointed as an expert on the EC’s Expert Group on a European Insurance Contract Law.
