We are proud to announce our return to our London office at 5 New Street Square (5NSS), following an extensive 18-month refurbishment. The reimagined space reflects our commitment to innovation, client focus, sustainability and inclusivity.
The decision to refurbish rather than relocate has resulted in a 56% reduction in carbon emissions compared to a new build, equivalent to 5,500 flights from London to New York. The building now operates with 50% greater energy efficiency, powered by air source heat pumps and 100% renewable electricity.
Shane Gleghorn, Managing Partner, commented: “5 New Street Square has been reimagined to deliver a contemporary legal environment that enhances client engagement, connectivity and collaboration. The building’s design supports hybrid working, integrates smart technology, and creates an amazing space that reflects our brand and values. It’s a place where our people and clients can thrive together.”
"A standout feature of the new 5NSS is its art collection, developed in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery. Art is thoughtfully integrated throughout the building, from client floors to collaborative spaces, creating an inspiring environment that celebrates creativity and culture. A forthcoming publication will showcase the collection and our ongoing collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery."
“Remaining at 5NSS reflects both environmental responsibility and strategic advantage. Located in the heart of London’s legal district, the building offers stunning skyline views and close proximity to clients, transport, and cultural landmarks – supporting engagement with our clients and reinforcing our presence in the capital.”
Claire Rainsford, Head of Sustainability, added: “Sustainability has been embedded in every decision, from energy systems and recycled materials to biodiversity initiatives. We’ve chosen not to install honeybee hives due to their overpopulation in London, instead focusing on solitary bees and other pollinators. Our rooftop biodiversity garden includes wildflowers, sand mounds, and gabions to support a wide range of species.”
“We’re also involved in the Clerkenwell Pollinator Path project, as they look to create habitats across Clerkenwell and Farringdon. This initiative connects our space with schools and community gardens, forming part of a wider pollinator corridor across London.”
The innovative design of the reimagined 5NSS fosters connection both in person and globally. Cutting edge new additions – including a wellbeing suite with GP access, a multi-faith room, and a training suite – support health, inclusivity, and professional growth. WELL Platinum pre-certification, enhanced air quality, and ergonomic workstations reflect our commitment to wellbeing. Our meeting spaces and advanced connectivity enable seamless collaboration with clients and colleagues around the world.
We will host a series of events and tours to showcase the new space to clients, alumni, and future talent.
