We've been recognised as the overall leader in Lamp House’s prestigious annual global review of law firms' responsible business activity.
We achieved the highest overall score of any firm in Lamp House's 2025 benchmarking and recorded the biggest year-on-year increase in score. This recognition reflects the firm’s commitment to driving progress across all areas of responsible business, as detailed in the latest Responsible Business Impact Report.
Our success is highlighted across the core categories of the report.
People: Building on our previous strong standing, we have significantly increased our score by communicating a wider range of initiatives designed to deliver a more inclusive culture. Lamp House specifically noted our success in exemplifying how we listened to under-represented groups to create meaningful programmes and policies. This includes structured career development initiatives to support women, with the use of data to demonstrate the positive impact on retention.
Planet: We were named the leading firm in this category, doubling our score from last year. Key achievements include:
- Receiving approval of the firm’s science-based targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
- Active participation in the Legal Charter 1.5’s working group on the climate impact of legal advice to clients.
- Successfully managing travel-related emissions by assigning teams carbon and cost budgets.
Kirstie McGuigan, Partner and Executive Board Responsible Business Representative, commented: "This recognition by Lamp House is a fantastic achievement that reflects the dedication of our entire firm. As a member of the Executive Board overseeing Responsible Business, I am particularly delighted that our deep integration of responsible practices — from our inclusive culture to our planet-friendly initiatives — is delivering demonstrable value.
