International law firm Taylor Wessing has advised Munich-based audio player start-up Kekz GmbH and its shareholders on the investment of toy manufacturer Playmobil. The Horst Brandstätter Group, to which the Playmobil brand belongs, is acquiring roughly 25 % of the shares in Kekz GmbH.
The Horst Brandstätter Group is the first major player to invest in the start-up, which markets the so-called Kekzhörer, an all-in-one audio player for children, which has won various awards such as the German Design Awards 2021, the iF Design Award 2021 and the Amazon Launchpad Innovation Award. Kekz GmbH was founded in 2020 by Carl S. Taylor and Adin Mumma. Singer and music producer Peter Maffay was the company´s first investor.
