Advising PPHE Hotel Group on its strategic partnership with Radisson Hotel Group to develop a portfolio of premium lifestyle art'otels and collaborate on growth opportunities

We advised PPHE Hotel Group ("PPHE"), the London listed international hospitality real estate and management company, on the extension of its longstanding strategic partnership with Radisson Hotel Group ("RHG").

Through the partnership, they will jointly develop a global portfolio of premium lifestyle art'otels in key gateway cities and capitalise on growth opportunities presented by PPHE's current and future property portfolio.

art'otel is a growing collection of upper upscale lifestyle properties. Several iconic art'otels are scheduled to open in coming years, most notably art'otel London Battersea Power Station in 2022 (on which Taylor Wessing advised previously) and the £300m art'otel London Hoxton in 2024.

In addition to growing the art'otel portfolio, the companies have entered into a strategic development agreement for PPHE to further grow RHG's portfolio of brands across Europe with opportunities identified in Croatia and Central and Eastern Europe.

Commenting on the deal, Richard Bursby, head of the Hotels, Hospitality & Leisure group, said: "We really enjoyed working hand-in-glove with the legal and commercial teams at PPHE and leveraging the expertise of our commercial, trademark and data protection specialists to advise PPHE on extending this longstanding partnership. We look forward to seeing what PPHE go on to achieve in this exciting next phase."

Inbar Zilberman, Chief Corporate & Legal Officer of PPHE Hotel Group, added: "This is a unique partnership and required the in-house legal team to work closely with Taylor Wessing to find solutions to many complex and challenging issues. We are grateful to the Taylor Wessing team for supporting us throughout this complicated matter, providing exceptional client service and commercially focused advice from start to finish."

The transaction was led by partner Richard Bursby with close support from associates Jo Joyce, Maria Luchian and Magdalena Borucka in the Data Privacy and IP teams and IP partner Mark Owen.
