We have advised mid-market private equity firm Inflexion on its minority investment in Wood Thilsted, a leading global offshore wind engineering consultancy.
Founded in 2015, Wood Thilsted designs the foundations for some of the world's largest offshore wind farms, which are a key driver of the global transition to renewable clean energy. The company operates in all the major wind energy markets of the world, providing its services to many of the leading wind developers, and is currently working on the three most significant wind development projects globally. Wood Thilsted employs over 140 people in five countries, and is looking to expand further globally to meet strong demand for its services.
Private equity partner Jonny Bethell led on the deal. He said: "Sustainability is increasingly something both we at Taylor Wessing and our clients are focussing on. It's been a pleasure to work with Inflexion on this exciting investment into a business which is part of the global shift to sustainable energy generation."
Stuart Robinson, partner at Inflexion, commented: "We look forward to playing our part in seeing Wood Thilsted reach its potential as its growth is further propelled by the global shift in energy consumption. Each minority investment is unique. The experience of the Taylor Wessing team and their commercially-focussed advice were invaluable."
The team included Jonny Bethell, senior associate Suzy Davis, associates Sarah Wallace, Alex Tocili and Alex Stones (private equity), partners Liz Wilson and Ann Casey (tax and incentives), and specialist colleagues from across the firm.
