Advising Monzo on £60 million Series G fundraising

We have advised digital bank Monzo Bank on its £60 million Series G fundraising round.

The round includes existing investors Y Combinator, General Catalyst, Accel, Stripe, Goodwater, Orange, Thrive, Passion Capital, and some new investors.

The fundraising required expertise drawn from our corporate technology and financial services regulatory practices.

Commenting on the recent announcement, Angus Miln said:

Monzo is a fantastic business that continues to revolutionise the market in which it operates. I am delighted that we were able to influence this transaction positively, and drive it to such a successful conclusion. We look forward to further developing our close partnership with Monzo.”

The team was led by Angus Miln, partner and head of our Corporate Technology group, with support from senior counsel Matt Harrison (Corporate Technology), associate Harry Ruffell (Corporate Technology) and trainee Nell Cooper (Corporate Technology).

Financial services regulatory support was provided by partner and Head of our UK Financial Services Regulatory group Charlotte Hill and associate Katie Fry-Paul.
