International law firm Taylor Wessing today announces three new senior promotions in the UK. Two lawyers have been appointed to the partnership and one promoted to senior counsel. All promotions take effect from 1 November 2019
The new partners are:
Colin McCall – Patents
Colin joined Taylor Wessing's London office in 2006. His practice focuses on the life sciences and technology (particularly cleantech) sectors. Colin advises biotech, pharmaceutical and medtech companies ranging from early stage fast growth biotechs to listed multinational pharmaceutical and medical devices companies across the full range of commercial contracts – from general commercial agreements to the more complex manufacturing, R&D collaboration and licensing/partnering agreements. Colin also has particular expertise in advising on the commercial and intellectual property aspects of technology transactions including spin-outs, start-ups, venture capital investments, M&A and IPOs.
Tasmina Goraya, PhD – Patents
Tasmina joined the firm in 2016 as an associate in the Patents group and is based in the firm's Cambridge office supporting local, national and international clients in the life sciences sectors, including pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Her regulatory expertise covers a broad spectrum of areas, including compliance, corporate support and advising on specialist agreements such as clinical trials agreements, as well as regulatory complaints and investigations. Tasmina also has expertise advising on IP and regulatory disputes within the sector, with a particular focus on arbitrations.
Commenting on these latest promotions, Managing Partner Shane Gleghorn said: "It has been a period of significant investment and growth for us. We have experienced another strong year and these promotions demonstrate our depth in their areas of expertise . I am very pleased to welcome Colin and Tasmina to the partnership and congratulate them on their promotions. Their work is strategically important to our international clients and the growth of their businesses, particularly those in the life sciences and healthcare sector."
The new senior counsel is Edward Cooper, Real Estate. Edward joined the firm as an associate in 2012. He specialises in advising clients on a wide variety of property related disputes, at all levels of the civil court hierarchy. Edward has particular expertise advising on matters relating to contentious lease renewals, dilapidations, easements, recovery of rent and options. His clients are equally wide ranging, including developers, high net worth individuals, funds and serviced office providers.
These promotions follow five lawyers who were appointed to the partnership and seven new senior counsels who were made up earlier this year in May. The firm has also invested in many new lateral hires this year, with six new lateral partner appointments in the UK announced in as many months.
