The Berlin-based logistics start-up sennder GmbH has secured approximately USD 70 million in its recent series C financing round. sennder is a platform-based digital freight forwarder specialised in road-bound full-truck load (FTL) and connects clients and freight carriers via an online booking platform, offering efficient and cost-effective freight forwarding with real-time tracking in cooperation with more than 10,000 freight carriers.
The series C financing round was led by the German-Swiss VC investor Lakestar, with participation of Siemens-backed investor Next47 as well as the Italian family office H14 and existing shareholders Accel, HV Holtzbrinck Ventures, Scania Growth Capital and Project A as co-investors.
Less than 6 months ago, sennder had already raised USD 30 million of funding in a series B financing round led by US-VC investor Accel – resulting in approximately USD 100 million of growth capital secured by sennder this year alone.
With the combined funding from its series B and its series C, sennder aims to further develop its business and fuel its European expansion through new offices in Poland, Italy and Spain as well as strategic collaborations.
Taylor Wessing has advised sennder on all legal issues related to the series C financing round.
