Advising Netcall on acquisition of AI-powered RPA platform Automagica

  • Quick read

We have advised Netcall plc, a leading provider of intelligent automation and customer engagement software, on its acquisition of Oakwood Technologies BV (trading as Automagica), a Belgium-based provider of AI-powered Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software.

Netcall will integrate Automagica’s RPA solution into its Liberty platform as Liberty RPA making it a one-stop shop for process automation and customer engagement, blending low-code, RPA, chatbots, digital messaging and contact centre solutions.

According to Gartner, the RPA software market is expected to reach $2 billion in 2021, with many organisations still in the early stages of their automation journey.

James Ormondroyd, CFO of Netcall, said: "Through the addition of AI-powered RPA to the Liberty platform, we will provide businesses with a comprehensive digital transformation toolkit and we are excited by the opportunity this presents. Taylor Wessing provided insightful, commercial advice and were great to have alongside us on this acquisition."

Corporate partner Russell Holden said: "Netcall's acquisition of Oakwood Technologies will enhance their reputation as a leader in process automation and customer engagement software. As one of Europe's leading firms for technology-related advice, we continue to work on many of the most exciting B2B AI transactions across a wide range of industries and with bright, ambitious companies such as Netcall."

Our team was led by Russell Holden, with support in the UK and Belgium from: Joe Cooper, Christian Dekoninck, Katie Fellows, Marie Keup, Madison Lawler, and Liz Wilson.
