Hospitality in the News - 19 March 2020

Your latest instalment of articles and opinions from across the Hospitality sector.

TW: thinkingdifferently

Our thoughts are very much with everyone affected by the coronavirus outbreak and in particular those in the Hospitality & Travel sector which is bearing the full force of this viral pandemic. The steps taken to combat the virus - isolation - are the polar opposite to what the industry stands for and a sector, which represents over 10% of global GDP, faces an almost unimaginable shock.

This feels like an earthquake in reverse - where the aftershocks seem to get bigger and bigger. But these shocks will stop and we will start up again. Humans have always travelled – whether you are a Darwinist, Creationist, or hold another world view, humans have travelled from wherever we started to occupy the whole planet. This desire to travel is not going to change. It's in our DNA.

The next edition of Hospitality News will go back to showcasing all the positive things happening in our sector but we want to sign off by saying Taylor Wessing is here to support you. Take care and stay safe.
