We are announcing 11 senior promotions in the UK, and a key change that recognises the seniority and expertise of our knowledge lawyers. All promotions take effect from 1 November 2022.
In support of these latest promotions, the firm has recognised the expertise within its Professional Support Lawyer group and has established a new structure that more accurately reflects individual experience, provides more recognition and opportunity for career development, and aligns with roles of other lawyers in the firm.
As a result, Professional Support Lawyers (PSLs) will now be called Knowledge Lawyers and Senior PSLs will be called Senior Knowledge Lawyers. From 1 November, 11 of our Senior PSLs will be promoted to the newly created 'Senior Counsel – Knowledge' role.
These changes recognise the important role the knowledge lawyer team has in advancing our firm's strategy across many areas, including legal excellence and our learning culture, enhancing our client service and improving the performance of our business.
Talent Director Wendy Tomlinson commented on the change to the structure of the group: "We felt it was important to recognise the contribution of our most senior knowledge lawyers and to give them a platform for development for the benefit of our clients and our business. We are promoting lawyers with exceptional expertise and business impact across a range of areas."
Managing Partner Shane Gleghorn took the opportunity to congratulate our newly promoted Senior Counsel – Knowledge lawyers: "Our knowledge lawyers are intrinsic to our reputation for being at the leading edge of change in regulation and our markets. I am delighted we are promoting these impressive individuals."
