Taylor Wessing acted on behalf of Jay and Dympna Coleman on the sale of the leading digital death notice platform, RIP.ie, to The Irish Times Group. The M&A team was led by Partner Adam Griffiths with assistance from Senior Associate Rachel McCausland, Associate Ameer Gazder. Partner Órlaith Molloy and Of Counsel Jo Joyce provided further support.
Established by siblings Jay and Dympna Coleman in 2005, RIP.ie is Ireland’s leading online platform for death notices, with around 60 million page views a month. RIP.ie allows bereaved families to share information about deaths and funeral arrangements, and visitors to express their condolences and access a range of funeral-related services and resources.
Commenting on the deal, Partner and Head of the Dublin office, Adam Griffiths, states; “The transaction is a significant milestone for Jay and Dympna and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for RIP.ie.
