We have advised BRANTNER Slovakia s.r.o. on the foundation of a joint venture company CEBZ s.r.o. with Slovenský plynárenský priemysel, a.s. (100% subsidiary of the Slovak Republic) for the purpose of building and operating energy and biological waste recovery centers in selected locations in the Slovak Republic.
The shareholders will have equal shares in CEBZ s.r.o.
The centers will play a significant role in the journey to a new, sustainable level of waste management in the Slovak Republic. They will be based on the most modern sorting technologies and will use the process of so-called dry fermentation in the processing of the biological component of waste.
The centers will significantly increase the rate of recycling and recovery of waste, thereby substantially reducing the amount of landfilled municipal waste. At the same time, they will ensure the production of biomethane, compost, and solid alternative fuels. Biomethane can contribute to the decarbonization of energy and to reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Thanks to this project, Slovakia will join countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, and Italy, which have been successfully using this waste recovery technology for several years.

Andrea Kováčiková, Senior Associate Taylor Wessing:
„We are proud that we have been able to accompany the Brantner Group on this project, which is the first of its kind in Slovakia. We are pleased that the project can make a major contribution to the protection of our environment and a more responsible use of existing resources. The joint venture project is also a nice example of how more can be achieved by joining forces. The idea of bonding and teamwork is also in our DNA.”
Tibor Papp, CEO of Brantne Green Solutions Slovakia:
„We thank the Taylor Wessing team for their conscientious and detailed work and legal support on our CEBZ project. It is not easy to combine two worlds - Waste Management and Energetics, but even more complex and interesting is the combination of a private and a state-owned enterprise into a new and green project. Taylor Wessing's support in the formation and establishment of the joint venture with SPP has been crucial for us.”
