Already in 2020 Taylor Wessing had advised the internationally active amedes group on the acquisition of a majority stake in the Vienna-based ARCHIMED LIFE SCIENCE GMBH. Now, the firm supported its client in the purchase of the remaining shares which were once again acquired from the holding company VLSI Holding of ARCHIMED founder Dipl. Ing. DDr. David Kasper. With this acquisition, amedes group will strengthen its competence in the field of rare metabolic diseases.
As in 2020, the buyer was advised by a team led by Taylor Wessing Vienna Partner Philip Hoflehner (Corporate). He was supported by the associates Bence Törö and Cezary Dominik Kinski. The seller was advised by partner Stefan Arnold and counsel Pablo Essenther of KPMG Law.
The amedes group is a leading provider of interdisciplinary and medical-diagnostic services for patients, physicians in private practice and hospitals. ARCHIMEDlife is dedicated to the provision and development of diagnostic services ranging from inborn errors of metabolism to oncological diseases.
The transaction was closed in January 2023. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
