Have a look at our latest advertising infographics summarising key aspects of ASA decisions for the quarter. The statistics are closely similar to Q3, with 81 rulings (compared to 87 for Q3) and 90% of complaints that went to a ruling upheld (as opposed to 85% for Q3). There were fewer individual complaints/complainants overall – 158 (compared to 406 for Q3). Again, over half of all complaints emanated from consumers and the vast majority related to internet and social media adverts. Gender/sex, medicines/remedies and children/the vulnerable remained commonly cited issues.
