The future of digital service regulation in Europe

In this webinar we discuss the EU's proposals for the Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act, published on 15 December and dealing with online gatekeepers and intermediaries. We also look at what is happening in the UK with the creation of the Digital Markets Unit and the UK government's updated proposal to impose duties of care to prevent online harms.

Together, these proposals will have a significant impact on the operations of many digital services, increasing their regulatory burden and reshaping how businesses interact with gatekeepers. User safety is at the core of the proposals, and all intermediary and user-generated content services will have to review their policies and procedures for dealing with illegal and harmful content. The webinar provides a guide for what will be expected and from whom.
