Recent reports have indicated 3.5m jobs in the UK hospitality sector are at risk if pubs and restaurants cannot open for the summer. The UK Government has said hospitality businesses will be able to open on 4th July, however pubs and restaurants have pointed out that the 2 metre social distancing rule in force in the UK all but stops them opening their doors.

We never thought we would quote the Spice Girls, but as non-essential shops are allowed to re-open to the public, and the World Health Organisation continues to advise that 1 metre social distancing is sufficient, we believe this is the time "when 2 become 1" so that the hospitality industry can re-open for business.
