In May 2025, we launched a pioneering free legal advice clinic in partnership with the Roundhouse Trust.
The creative industries are an essential part of the UK economy. However, they are becoming harder for young people to access due to funding cuts, the cost-of-living crisis and the long-lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recognising the need for accessible legal support in the creative industries, the idea of a structured legal clinic model, focused on general contract and IP queries, for members of the Roundhouse Works was born. Roundhouse Works is an award-winning co-working space and development programme designed to be a space for young creative freelancers and entrepreneurs aged 18-30 to create without limits.
The clinic has been designed to be inclusive, practical and responsive to the unique challenges faced by emerging creatives – many of whom face socioeconomic barriers to accessing legal advice or simply aren't aware of the necessity of getting legal advice on, and protection for, their creative output.
Please note that we do not accept direct requests for legal assistance from individuals. If you need legal assistance, we recommend that you contact your local Law Centre, Legal Advice Clinic or Citizens Advice Bureau.
Our partnership with Taylor Wessing is a shining example of how meaningful relationships and aligned values can drive long-term impact for young creatives. The legal clinic has been invaluable in providing our young people with access to free, high-quality legal advice, something which is a significant barrier to many young entrepreneurs. The clinic offers them the confidence and clarity needed to protect and grow their creative profession.
