Maja is a member of the Corporate, M&A and Capital Markets department. She is admitted to the bar of Amsterdam and to the bar of Luxembourg. Maja has a special focus on international corporate transactions like cross-border (re)structures (mergers, migrations), joint ventures and acquisitions. In addition, she frequently advises and assists companies for entering or expanding on the Dutch or Luxembourg market. Her clients are of a wide range; from large sized corporates, to SMEs and from PE/VC funds to start-ups. As such, Maja advises not only on strict corporate law topics but also on strategic matters from a coordinating, connecting and board-counseling point of view, thereby closely working together with other experts, such as corporate finance advisors, investors, tax lawyers and accountants.
Maja obtained her LL.M. degree from the University of Amsterdam in 2003. In 2008 she obtained a post-master degree at the Grotius Academy for Corporate Law. Moreover, Maja has gained broad international experience by having lived and worked abroad as a lawyer; next to Amsterdam, she has been working in Ljubljana and in Luxembourg for a number of years. In the latter jurisdiction, Maja established and managed presence on behalf of a Dutch law firm.
Maja has a special focus on advising her internationally located clients in the fields of tech and life sciences & healthcare. For instance, she has been advising a Dutch/French eye care instruments in implementing new management policies and management participations; a UK pharmaceutical in onboarding in the Netherlands for Brexit-purposes; a Nordic investment fund on the acquisition of a Dutch app-development company; a US tech company active in the field of onine logistics in setting up its headquarters in Amsterdam; and a Dutch/Serbian/US joint venture developing media data analytics, backed by various VC-funds.
