Brand overload? Almost every month, it seems one of the global brands announces the launch of a new "brand". Already in February, IHG has announced a new all-suites brand (not to mention the purchase of Six Senses) and Accor is poised to launch Greet. Hilton and Hyatt are next. Are the global brands undermining their existing brands by creating these new "brands"? We find it hard to keep up, and this is our day job. How do consumers not get confused? Marketing guru Seth Godin has written an interesting blog post considering whether these are really "brands" or just "logos".
