The Online Safety Act: what you need to know

    • - GMT

The UK's Online Safety Act (OSA) received Royal Assent on 26 October 2023, with an aim of protecting online users from illegal and harmful online user-generated content.

The government expects that more than 100,000 online providers will be in scope of the Act. Much of the detail around compliance under the OSA will be provided by the regulator, Ofcom, which recently published its first consultation.

Our webinar will help you to understand how the Act will impact your online business and what you need to do to prepare for compliance.

Join our experts as they cover key topics, including:

  • What is the OSA and who's in scope.
  • The risk assessment duties.
  • Meeting the safety duties.
  • How the OSA compares with the EU's Digital Services Act.
  • Ofcom's enforcement powers and the timeline for compliance.
