Cybersecurity and data breaches
Cybersecurity is a board level issue; barely a day passes without reports of a major cybersecurity incident or data breach. Two major pieces of European legislation, will come into effect during May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Network Information Systems Directive (NISD). Businesses which fail to comply with cybersecurity and breach reporting requirements, will face not only reputational damage but potential legal action and fines of up to the higher of 4% of annual global turnover or Euros 20m. Download looks at the new legal requirements in the EU (as well as at developments in Singapore and China), provides checklists and case studies, and considers issues around privilege and data subject claims under the GDPR.
