Kate is an associate in the Commercial Technology and Data group. She advises on contracts and commercial issues in the technology and software industries.
She regularly works with early stage, high-growth and multinational tech companies across a variety of sectors including healthtech, fintech and envirotech. Kate also advises on a wide range of contracts, including those which cover software as a service (SaaS), Cloud, outsourcing, software licensing/development, partnership/collaboration, websites and apps.
Kate completed an eight-month secondment as 2IC to the GC at a fast growth Fintech with international reach. Amongst other things, the secondment required having a deep understanding of the company's key drivers and complex business structures, working closely with the leaders of the business' technology/operations/creative functions, and hands-on experience with software development and agile methodologies.
Kate is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
