Taylor Wessing advised Alberdingk Boley, a Krefeld-based manufacturer for aqueous binders, on the acquisition of Synthomer Leuna GmbH. With the purchase of thecompany, the manufacturing site Leuna in Saxony-Anhalt became property of Alberdingk Boley. Both companies agreed to remain silent about the purchase price.
Alberdingk Boley is a mid-sized company that manufactures water-based binders that bond, refine and protect surfaces. Water-based binders are considered environmentally friendly and are increasingly in demand on the world market.
With the acquisition of the new production site, Albergingk Boley has expanded its production capacity and secured its growth strategy for its polyurethane and acrylate dispersions for coating almost all substrates, such as wood, metal, plastics, mineral substrates, leather, textiles and much more. Synthomer Leuna GmbH previously belonged to Synthomer plc, an international company in the chemical industry.
