TW: thinkingdifferentlyThe data challenge for Hospitality Did you know 2.5 quintillion bytes of data are created every day? This sounds a lot, right? But can you really get your head around this number? 1,000 billion is 1 trillion. 1,000 trillion is 1 quadrillion. 1,000 quadrillion is 1 quintillion. 2.5 quintillion bytes is a humongous amount of data. It's 2,500,000,000,000,000,000. And this is every single day. And this is before the Internet of Things really gets going. So in a world where Hospitality and Travel aspire to produce a relevant and curated experience, how do you see the wood from the trees in all that data? Sending an email “Dear Jane” offering the same thing you bought last week is not going to do it. Make the offering super-relevant - otherwise Jane is going to block you and switch off. #TravelTech |
