February is LGBT+ History Month and with International Women's Day fast approaching, equaliTW and Balance in Business will co-host our next event.

Our storyteller

Jacqui Gavin is an influential speaker on LGBTQ+ issues. Her story is one of empowerment, taking the time to truly know yourself and having the courage to be that person every day.

Jacqui could have been a footballer, but started her career in the military before joining the civil service.  She transitioned in 1983 and has a unique perspective on gender bias.   We will learn of the struggles she overcame during her journey to be her true, authentic self.  She has direct experience of bias from different perspectives, both before and after transitioning.

This is a story of equality, resilience and overcoming adversity. Jacqui relates her experiences back to the corporate world and reinforces the importance of inclusion and how and why you need to understand your colleagues and be allies.

You can expect to learn what we can all do to reduce bias and create a more inclusive workplace.
