Bernhard is a partner in our firm and a member of the Corporate practice group. He advises national and international clients on all aspects of Corporate Law and M&A transactions. His main areas of work are structured sales and acquisitions, LBO, LBI, joint ventures and public takeovers. Bernhard‘s clients include international companies, finance institutions, private equity funds as well as medium-sized and privately owned enterprises. During his career, Bernhard has advised on numerous deals, both in the context of German and cross-border transactions. Moreover, Bernhard has an extensive background in restructuring and corporate recovery and has safeguarded creditors‘ interests in numerous proceedings.
Bernhard Kloft studied law in Bonn und Freiburg. After spending time in the USA and working as legal counsel for Alfred G. Toepfer (Archer Daniels Midland Group), Bernhard joined our firm (then Berenberg-Gossler & Partner) as a partner in 1987.
Bernhard is a member of the International Bar Association, the German-British Lawyers‘ Association and the German Association of Banking Law.
He is fluent in German and English.
