After its establishment in 1986 in Vienna and the opening of six offices in Central and Eastern Europe in the years to follow, one of the leading Austrian law firms in CEE is now ready to take the next step in becoming a global player: today e|n|w|c Attorneys at Law joins renowned international law firm Taylor Wessing as “TaylorWessing e|n|w|c Attorneys at Law”, giving the Firm a presence in 22 locations across 13 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Opening up of new markets

e|n|w|c Attorneys at Law will be the CEE/SEE competence centre within Taylor Wessing. Taylor Wessing was formed as a result of a merger between long-established German and British law firms. Since the original merger in 2002, Taylor Wessing has significantly expanded and opened up offices in France, Belgium, Dubai, China and Singapore. Now, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Ukraine have followed.

This is the first time in the legal sector that a major international law firm with a German-British background has expanded into Eastern Europe by teaming up with an Austrian firm established in CEE. Together, they share the vision of entering further key emerging markets. For e|n|w|c, Taylor Wessing’s presence in Germany and UK implies gaining improved access to the significant German-speaking and Anglo-Saxon economic areas.
