Axel Filges studied law at the Universities of Hamburg, Frankfurt and Cologne. He passed the Second State Exam in 1975 and he was admitted to the Hamburg Bar that same year. In 1980, he became a partner in our law firm. In 1989, with the approval of the Hamburg Bar he became a specialist attorney in Employment Law and since then, he has been the head of the Employment Law Department in our Hamburg office.
Axel Filges is a member of the European Employment Lawyers Association which was launched in London in 1998, as well as the President of the German Federal Bar and a member of the committee for the election of judges of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
