Often working in conjunction with other groups within Taylor Wessing (finance, construction, corporate, corporate finance and tax), we have many years experience, coupled with an excellent reputation both in the UK and in Europe, in relation to property finance and banking transactions.
Clients include major UK clearing banks, three Irish banks and the London offices of a number of European and Saudi banks. Further, in recent years, we have completed a number of Islamic Financing arrangements. We also advise initiators, investors, distribution companies and banks on the development and financing of open and closed-end real estate funds
The Group is able to offer practical advice on the financing of complex transactions, whether to be secured on a development site, large property portfolios, shopping centres or hotels or even wind farms, schools or nursing homes. In addition to offering advice on the classic loan and mortgage financing models (financing of residential and commercial property), our services include property leasing and innovative project financing, such as mortgage-backed securities, REITS and REIT funds
We also have a long-standing practice in handling non-performing real estate funds and security, advising banks and other financial services providers, including receivership situations. In Germany our strategy is to provide comprehensive, time and cost-effective claim management, ranging from an analysis of potential business and legal solutions for the benefit of our clients, from out of court conflict management or (if appropriate) the consistent enforcement and defence of claims in court.
