Finance & financial services in the Middle East
The Finance and Financial Services practice group acts for Government departments and investment entities, several of the major corporate borrowers in the UAE and local as well as international banks, financial institutions and insurance companies. An integral element of our Finance and Financial Services practice group is our continued involvement with some of the most significant and ground-breaking financial transactions in the UAE particularly in the spheres of equity finance (public offers and private placements), debt finance (acting for lenders and borrowers), and investments (private equity and funds).
Our team has successfully advised on a number of conventional and Islamic financial structures, bonds and Sukuks, development of new financial products, and regulatory compliance. We regularly advise on the legal framework and rules and regulations of the Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai Financial Services Authority, UAE Central Bank, Securities and Commodities Authority, Dubai Financial Market, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and NASDAQ Dubai.
We have an established funds practice acting for funds, sponsors, fund managers and advisers. Within the firm, we have extensive experience in the structuring, setting up and listing of investment funds of many kinds including the setting up of, and corporate and regulatory advice to, regulated fund management firms and the structuring of funds to comply with Islamic finance guidelines.
Our Finance and Financial Services team works closely with other practice groups in the firm and several of our lawyers' expertise extends across practice areas. Taylor Wessing’s Islamic Finance Group comprises lawyers from a number of different disciplines including finance, projects, corporate, commercial property, banking and trade finance.
