Taylor Wessing re-elects Martin Winter as Senior Partner
Martin Winter has been re-elected as Taylor Wessing UK's Senior Partner for a further three years. Originally appointed Senior Partner in 2005, he will begin his second term from 1 November 2008.
Martin has been a partner at Taylor Wessing since 2001 and, until 2005, was head of the UK leveraged Private Equity Group and International Private Capital Group. He has many years' experience in leveraged private equity transactions, advising both institutions and management teams. He has also acted extensively for a range of listed and large private companies on M&A and joint venture work.

Since the beginning of my first term as Senior Partner, the firm has continued its international growth, consolidating its reputation as a leading pan-European player. In the last year alone, we have launched offices in both Dubai and Beijing, further serving our European clients investing in the Middle East and Asia, and visa versa.

An English graduate from St Edmund Hall, Oxford, Martin qualified as a solicitor in December 1978, spending five years as an assistant at Norton Rose before joining Biddle where he became a partner in 1985. He was head of Corporate for four years and senior partner from 1996 until its merger in 2001. Away from the office, Martin won the National title in slalom Water Skiing in 2000 and 2007 (in his age group!) and, since joining Taylor Wessing, has run eleven marathons. He has recently been involved in setting up the Jane Bubear Sport Foundation, which is intended to be a charity for sport related good causes with an initial goal of buying sports equipment for youngsters in war and disaster zones.
