Peter advises clients on all aspects of Corporate Law and specialises in national and cross-border M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital transactions, including public takeovers. His main focus is on technology driven industries, including the Renewable Energy sector. He has broad experience in transaction management.
Peter studied law at the universities of Bonn, Munich and Regensburg. After his doctoral thesis on European and German antitrust law, he finished his second state examination in 1996 and was admitted to the bar in 1997. From 1996 until 1997 Peter worked as a foreign associate with Dr. Widmer & Partner in Bern/Switzerland and as associate with Weiss, Walter, Fischer-Zernin in Munich. From 1998 until 2002 he worked as senior lawyer in the Düsseldorf office of Clifford Chance, and joined Taylor Wessing as partner in the Düsseldorf office on 1 September 2002.
Peter is a member of the German-American Lawyers’ Association and associated member of the Institute of Civil Law, Commercial Law and Economic Law of the University of Cologne. He lectures on M&A and Corporate Law at the University of Cologne.
He is co-author of the handbook "Mezzanine Finanzierungsinstrumente" lastly published in its 2nd edition 2007 and co-author of the handbook “Private Equity”, published by C. H. Beck Verlag in 2010.
Peter, a native German speaker, is fluent in English and proficient in French.
