Billy Lau is a Partner in RHTLaw Taylor Wessing’s Corporate and Securities Practice. His main areas of practice include corporate and securities laws, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, as well as China and Malaysia-related corporate transactions. Prior to practising in Singapore, he practiced corporate law and conveyancing in Malaysia.

Experience  

  • Acted in various initial public offering exercises, including acting as solicitors to the invitation for Dyna-Mac Holdings Ltd, Ryobi Kiso Holdings Ltd., Ziwo Holdings Ltd., China Fibretech Ltd. in their initial public offering and listing on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited, and as solicitors to the manager, underwriter and placement agent, initial public offering and listing of Qualitas Medical Group Ltd, China Kunda Technology Holding Limited, and Fuxing China Group Ltd.
  • Acting for various companies listed on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited, in connection with their rights issues, including mDR Limited and China Sports International Limited.
  • Acted for various companies listed on the Main Board or Catalist of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited, in connection with other secondary fund raising exercises, including, mDR Limited, Vashion Group Limited and Ramba Energy Limited.
  • Acted for various entities including companies listed on the Main Board or Catalist of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited, in connection with its merger and acquisitions / disposal transactions, including mDR Limited (acquisition of the minority interest in its subsidiary Distribution Management Solutions Pte. Ltd. for S$3.6 million) and Falcon Capital Global Holdings Limited (proposed S$178 million acquisition of mainboard company, United Fiber System Limited).
  • Acted for Financial One Corp. and Keda Communications Ltd in their voluntary delisting pursuant to Rules 1307 and 1309 of the SGX-ST Listing Manual.
