Taylor Wessing represents the "Men in Scarlet" on Royal Hospital Chelsea's new Infirmary

06-Oct-2006  |  Intellectual Property, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Real Estate

Taylor Wessing advised the Royal Hospital Chelsea on the construction contract to rebuild its new infirmary; the first stage of a £35 million modernisation of the Sir Christopher Wren designed accommodation for veteran soldiers in Chelsea.

The Infirmary is being built alongside the historic Chelsea landmark buildings with the use of private funds, half of which have been raised by the Chelsea Pensioners Appeal.  As part of the fundraising initiatives, Taylor Wessing also co-sponsored an auction of Chelsea paintings held at the Royal Hospital last month.

Helen Garthwaite, Head of Construction at Taylor Wessing, comments "Taylor Wessing is delighted to support the Royal Hospital Chelsea. The TW construction team has huge enthusiasm for the Chelsea Pensioners and their Project". The Royal Hospital Chelsea was built in 1692 to provide support for army veterans and currently provides living accommodation for 300 Chelsea pensioners.

The Taylor Wessing team providing advice on this project is Helen Garthwaite and Sam Nichols (construction), Martin Baker (EU procurement) and Christopher Bell (real estate).
