Taylor Wessing promotes 11 lawyers to partnership
Taylor Wessing is pleased to announce the promotion of four new partners in its London office and seven new partners to its German offices with effect from 1 May 2007. This will bring the total number of Taylor Wessing partners worldwide to 271.

Ann Casey is head of the Employee Incentives Team and has expertise in a broad range of equity incentive arrangements. Ann has experience of tax aspects of equity structuring in relation to IPOs, takeovers, mergers and acquisitions and cross-border issues including inward bound start-ups. Ann also advises on all types of approved and unapproved share plans for a wide range of private and publicly quoted companies and advises on structuring involving venture capital and private equity.
Nikol Davies specialises in advising UK and international corporations, individuals and partnerships on a wide range of corporate, financing and real estate tax issues. Nikol has particular expertise in advising corporations and private equity funds on tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations and reconstructions of corporate groups, together with refinancings and structured finance transactions.
Dr Tillmann Pfeifer primarily advises privately owned businesses in the areas of corporate law and company succession. He also focuses on the areas of Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity. He represents national and international corporations and privately held mid-cap companies as well as finance investors.
Dr Oliver Rothley specialises in Mergers and Acquisitions and capital market law. He advises listed companies before and during their annual shareholders' meeting regarding corporate actions and on issues related to capital market and corporate stock legislation. Additionally, he offers these services to financial institutions advising such companies in corporate finance. In terms of Taylor Wessing's inbound business, Oliver also supports predominantly American firms in setting up subsidiaries and branches in Germany.
Dr Nicolai Wiegand is a member of our Technology Group. He specialises in IT/E-commerce, data protection, and Media and Entertainment. His scope of work covers the entire spectrum of software and data security/data protection, the latter in particular in relation to market research and customer retention schemes. He also advises on all aspects of competition law, advertising law and sponsoring, as well as copyright law with a special focus on issues of publishing law. He is regularly instructed as a litigator. His clients include national and international IT companies, advertising agencies and publishers.
Dr Matthias Jenn advises on commercial lease contracts and contracts in connection with the acquisition and the financing of real estate. His experience includes drafting the relevant contracts as well as restructuring existing legal relationships. Additionally, Matthias has extensive experience in real estate litigation. His clients are mainly medium-sized companies.
Kristina Küster is licensed to practise as attorney by the Frankfurt am Main Regional Court. She specialises in Construction and Engineering law and Tenancy Law, particularly on legal issues pertaining to construction contracts and projects. Kristina advises her clients in contract negotiations, project implementation and the out-of-court settlement of disputes. She is often mandated with the nationwide legal representation of her clients in court.
Mark Smith advises on all aspects of pensions law and has acted for employers and trustees in relation to a wide range of schemes, including those of FTSE 100 companies, public sector bodies and charities. His recent work includes the merger of two final salary pension schemes, the UK pensions issues arising out of a pan-European corporate restructuring, and advising a professional trustee company on securing compensation from the Pension Protection Fund for several pension schemes.
Dr Frauke Biester's main area of practice is advising companies and executives on all employment law issues. She specialises in formulating employment contracts and advising on issues related to company pension schemes. Her experience includes the employment law implications of company restructuring. Frauke represents both national and international clients.
Dr Frank Walk advises national and international enterprises on all aspects of employment and service contracts, in particular the establishment and termination of employment relationships. His areas of specialisation also include the rules of non-discrimination and part-time as well as limited term employment contracts. He advises companies on the cooperation and settlement of disputes with works councils as well as on corporate restructuring. His particular expertise extends to transaction-related transfers of business and due diligence reviews of employment contracts.
Neil Smyth specialises in all forms of non-contentious and contentious corporate and personal insolvency matters. He attained higher rights of audience in September 2002 and was listed as one of seven "Associates to Watch" and a "Leader" in the Restructuring / Insolvency section in Chambers 2006. Neil acts primarily for insolvency practitioners, but also represents corporate and personal clients on all aspects of insolvency matters. He has given client seminars on a variety of topics.
