Taylor Wessing launches in Beijing
Taylor Wessing has announced that it is to open an office in Beijing, the firm’s second office in China. The firm has been operating in Shanghai since 1996. The Beijing team, comprising lawyers from China, France, Germany and the UK, under the direction of Florian Ranft and managed by partner Christoph Hezel, will be operational with immediate effect. The new office will be located in Beijing’s central business district.
Florian Ranft, International Head of the Taylor Wessing's China Group, commented:
"Our strategy is to follow our clients and, from this perspective, the Beijing office is a response to demand for support in dealing with central government for approvals on large-scale projects, as well as the steady growth of investments in the Northern regions."

The Beijing office will offer advice in the fields of foreign direct investment, M&A, private equity, restructuring, banking & finance and real estate. Chinese clients will have access to European legal advisors with expertise in capital markets, banking and finance, corporate and M&A and intellectual property within the office.
