Taylor Wessing at the heart of the European Bar
Dr Axel Filges, a partner with Taylor Wessing in Hamburg and Chairman of the Hamburg Bar, has been appointed Chairman of the Bundesrechtsanwaltskammer (German National Bar Association) by the General Assembly.
Axel has to date been President of the Hanseatic Bar Association Hamburg and Vice President of the Bundesrechtsanwaltskammer. His appointment marks the second time a Taylor Wessing partner has been elected President of a National Bar Council. Paul-Albert Iweins, who leads Taylor Wessing France’s Dispute Resolution Group, was elected President of the National Bar Council (Conseil National des Barreaux) in January 2006. Together Axel and Paul-Albert rule over the destinies of some 200,000 lawyers.
