Taylor Wessing Assists Principal’s Expansion
Principal Investment Holdings Limited, advised by European law firm Taylor Wessing, has completed the acquisition of Grant Thornton's asset management arm; another significant purchase for the rapidly expanding independent portfolio management specialist.
Principal’s new subsidiary, which was known as Grant Thornton Asset Management Limited (GTAM), manages over £100 million of assets on behalf of private portfolio clients nationwide. Following the acquisition, GTAM has changed its name to Principal Asset Management Limited. This expansion increases Principal's total funds under management to £800 million.
The Taylor Wessing team included Naomi Branston (employment), Alice Hills (pensions), David Gilham and Andrew Stevens (banking), Leigh Lisk (corporate tax), Shirley Tang (company secretarial) and Gareth Morgan (IT) as well as Tatiana Kilian and Peter Kempe in corporate.
