Taylor Wessing advises on slice of Pi

01-Nov-2007  |  Corporate, Private Capital

Taylor Wessing's Private Equity team in London has advised Pi Capital on a transformational deal, under which Bank of Scotland's Growth Equity team has taken a 19.9pc stake in the private equity firm.

This strategic investment by Bank of Scotland will give Pi access to the Bank's pipeline of investment opportunities, thereby enabling the company to expand its portfolio beyond growth equity and into alternative assets such as property, distressed debt and other forms of financing.

For Bank of Scotland, the investment allows access to Pi's network of around 250 of some of the UK's most successful and influential business leaders, entrepreneurs, and financiers.

The Taylor Wessing team advising Pi comprised Private Equity partner, Nick Hazell together with Max Remington-Hobbs.

Pi was also advised by Robert Pfeiffer of Compass Advisers.  BoS was advised by James Shaw of Brown Rudnick.
